need information about Rolex Bubbleback

A Rolex AD received this Bubbleback, reference 5075.
The serial number dates the watch to 1951.
It is running but probably needs to be serviced.
Can this watch be serviced at a Rolex Service Center?
The AD asked me if I wish to make an offer for it.
Any suggestions or comments from those in the know?
Thanks in advance!

Dial looks refinished, if original maybe $3,000 on a good day, but, since it's not original maybe $1800 is the value. I'd offer the AD $800.

Lovely watch. But the dial is everything on these old BB.

I think $1000.00 would be a fair offer to the A.D (MAX!)

How is it apparent that the dial has been refinished?
The watch is being offered to the Rolex AD by the estate of the original owner.
I believe the watch is 100% original but I have only looked at the pictures that I posted above.

Well, it's at least been relumed (factory-applied lume is never quite so messy). But the fonts of the printing, even at this low resolution, appear incorrect and uneven. I don't see a "SWISS" at the bottom, but I can't be sure with the crystal.

The lume is odd colored (On my monitor) & the lack Swiss @ the 6 is really something most would attribute to be refinished.

It's kinda like this (in my mind) even if it's original and it does not fit into the "Normal/Acceptable" realm, I would avoid it. Unless you love it and must have it

Thanks everyone for the excellent information that you provided.
I will take your advice and pass on this watch.
It certainly is not a Rolex that I MUST have.

The dial defiantly looks refinished.
