Fair price for ladies DJ?

I've been looking for a DJ for my wife and ran across one that interested me. Give me your thoughts on this, price etc:

1996 Ladies TT DJ Oyster bracelet, diamond bezel, MOP diamond dial. The bezel and dial are "custom". Everything else is original Rolex, and it is in a reputable jewelry store nearby that has been in the same location for 20 or so years. $4995.

Thoughts?

Morning MedcinMn,

The only issue I would have is when the watch needs service. If it's sent to an RSC, they won't allow you to keep custom; read: non-Rolex parts. They will tell you this after they've examined the watch and the watch will probably be returned with whatever style bezel and dial it left the factory with.

You might ask your jeweler if they have the original items and ask them to replace the custom ones.

Cheers,

David

Thank you for the reply. I knew the "custom" parts were aftermarket and they didn't try to hide the fact. Regarding service, I am in South Florida and we have tons of stores with "Rolex trained" personnel (of course that could mean anything).

If it seems like a good deal, and I do it I may try to work a deal to have them service my silver serti TT Submariner.

Any other thoughts on the price?

Incidentally, I did find another at a different store for $3100. Same watch however when I asked about the year was told "we would have to take the bracelet off and look at the serial number, if you were a serious buyer". Needless to say that was the end of that conversation.

Thx,

Aaron
