Yacht 2 yellow gold vs Daytona ceramic bezel ivory
Thank you for reading this post!!.
First of all I really want to know what your opinions are between a Yacht master 2 yellow gold vs the new Daytona black ceramic bezel Ivory dial. It just happened to have the oportunity to get either or, and I just couldn't decide!!. I was going to pick up the daytona, but then then showed me the Yachtmaster and was not able to make up my mind!!. I know is a 180 degrees difference and there lies my problem!!!. Is not like I can go and just get both!!:arch: Thank you guys |

Welcome to TRF as for which watch--totally different and matter of taste. I will say don't get either until you are sure of which one you truly want or you might end up with buyer's remorse in a hurry.

I prefer the Daytona-c with ivory dial myself. One of the greatest watches in the current line-up.

I would get the YachtMaster 2 because i personally love that watch!
If you get the YMII you are unlikely to meet someone with the same watch but daytonas are pretty common compared to the Yachtmaster. The exclusivity is a major attraction to me! |

Size and presence (possibly bling) verse classic subtle elegance. I'd go for the Y-M II. I afraid that having a Navitimer and DSSD that anything smaller than these does not feel right for me. Not only will the Y-M II have more physical and colourful presence, you will also know you are wearing it due to the size and weight. Personally I like this and wear my watches a little loose and enjoy the feeling of the weight when I shake the watch from higher on the wrist to lower and vice versa. I am also small and my wrist is likewise, but big watches are my personal preference and I have no doubt that eventually (within the next 10 years) Rolex will have to bring in more larger watches. I would have had a SS Daytona if it had been bigger and heavier. Now I have to save for a Y-M II.

I've never been a fan of the YM and the Daytona (although a different version) is one of my favorite watches of all time.

The one Daytona I like is the WG meteorite dial w/ black leather strap. But between the two, I would go for the YM2. It's a beautiful watch and has that really different complication, that, while pretty much useless for 95% of us, is still awesome.

A Thousand Thanks!!
Thank you for all the replies!!! I had a Daytona SS which I stopped wearing because of the size and I have the blessing of own some Panerai. PAM 317 and PAM 289 and a Daylight. Therefore size almost answered the question by itself, the new ceramic bezel with the rose gold in the Daytona have a great appealing for me and I though about it as a nice formal/informal watch!. Will go for the YMII ( I think I would have buyers remorse if I do the opposite ) and as a formal I wear a Montblanc timewalker SS which I love the look!.
Once again thank you for sharing your time and opinions with another watch lover! Great forum! |

Well it sounds like you have made your decision, I as well would choose the YM II... For me the Daytona always seems to wear a bit smaller than my liking.. Add a strap rather than a bracelet and it feels even smaller IMHO. both beautiful but I think you will like the presence of the YM II much better Would love to see some pics too

I agree, had this one been a second choice I would have probably gone with it but otherwise my vote goes for YM-II (like you)!

I like the Daytona ceramic bezel with a chocolate dial, but out of the 2 choices you have given I would go for the YG YM2

Perhaps like me he is saving up? I made up my mind for a Y-M II Rose Gold back in May after trying on the Daytona, but I needed to buy my wife a Date-Just first (got it last week). Now I am just letting everything settle down, confirm in my mind that I definitely want the Y-M as I don't really need another Rolex, I would just like one and get then get the rest of the cash before buying later in the year. AD will have to order in after I put down a deposit.

The YM 2 is a fantastic watch with a very unique movement. I would take it over any model Daytona.

I have the Daytona. Rose gold with the ivory dial is amazing and the ceramic bezel is unique. I respect the movement of the yacht 2 but would never use the complication. Good luck with your choice.
