Open Crown Challenge

Has anyone personally seen an open-crown Rollie survive a dunk in a sink pool or bathtub without taking in water?

I'm sure it's happened millions of times, without a problem. It's the rubber seals not the screw down crown that protects the watch.

Jocke might. :)

Seriously though, I'd love it if someone with a pressure tester good to at least 300m would test this.

As for Rolex saying you're fine, your watch comes to them with water inside, you admit crown wasn't screwed down, how fine ARE you. :)

Yes, I believe I remember hearing that the trip lock crown was good to 100 m in the unscrewed position, but it would be interesting to do a dry pressure test, to see at what point, ie. at what BAR the watch starts to lose its water tightness.

I'm sure it'll be okay, but I will not do it just to test my watch.
