Chapter ring question

Do the new models just say Rolex over and over or did I see that they include model or serial #?

The serial number is included and appears at 6 o'clock.

I know there is some debate on whether the look of the new ring is an improvement or not, but I do think it is really nice to have an easily visible serial number on the watch.

Thanks. I think that is actually a good idea. I have not seen one in person, but I would imagine it is not that noticeable and would serve as a good counterfeit deterent.

OR..... once the counterfeiter figure out how to copy this new chapter ring engraving, they will be scanning the forums for pics. with serial numbers showing putting them on their fakes. Just a thought..

Do they really need to steal our real serial numbers? They can just make them up. No one would know the difference between a real and a fake serial number. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference as long as the letter prefix made sense (Y, D, Z, M, etc.).

WOW, that is a fantastic pic. Strange, he's blocking out his serial number.

Standard practice. Bad guys can harvest them and use them in bogus auctions to sell fakes.

The CRB was introduced in 2004 with the new-style DJ's, and the first ones did not have the serial number at six, but now all Rolex watches that have the CRB will also have the serial number.

SOME Rolex watches still don't have it, though, like the SD, but now (M-series) even the SS Sub has it.

The CRB is MUCH more subtle than shown on pics, and my SS Daytona M-series has it, too:
