Called RSC NY

I wanted to see if they can adjust my 2 week old DSSD that runs about -3 a day but noticed now it's only about -1.5 a day so having reservations being almost spot on. Had got a small ding in the lug and asked if it was up there for the adjustment if they could remove it and they said NO unless it's in for a full service. I thought they did touch ups. Guess not. 

-3 is nothing and -1.5 is less than nothing

If they let people stop by to take a care of a nick here, and a scratch there, RSC would need about a billion tech's..

Enjoy the watch

Yes, guess I have to live with the small ding on the edge of the case the size of a flea. Guess I can do that for 5 years. You all say they make these watches look perfect when back from service.

You'll get more scratches, dings, & dents before its time to take it to the RSC. Enjoy the watch!

I have not open a 2 week old DSSD for that. Just let the watch break in for at least 3 months before any kind of adjustments.
So long it's not more than -2 sec I have leave it alone.

Mine was +9 when I first got it in the end of February and I decided to wait it out for a break in period. Now it is down to +6.8 so it is getting better. I am going to wait it out even longer because I keep seeing improvement. As for scratches.............I wear mine 24/7 so it gets some nix and scratches. It still shines though and I still stare at it. Enjoy the watch.

Thanks guys, I'm taking your advise and let it break in and not worry about the scratches and dings because when it goes for service they all get erased. :)

OP: I think your DSSD is running very well and certainly within spec. For comparison, my three recent Rolexes are running -3, -2 and +2 respectively.

Although I do agree about giving our watches a bit of break in time, I consider 9 seconds excessive and even your +6.8 seconds are still outside of COSC specs, if only just.

I would definitely take it in for an adjustment under warranty.

I know, guess it's when you just get it and happens so fast (within 24hrs) that makes it harder. But I'm over it, I know there are many more to follow. I will be interested to see how the RSC does make the watch look after years of wear and tear.

Rolex figures that a watch can be refinished about 5 times during it's lifecycle. If they refinished it each time a ding or scratch happened, the watch would need to be replaced well before it's expected life..

Character marks are going to happen if you wear your watch. While you can be cautious when wearing it, if you can't accept it, wear a G-Shock. I wear one to wash the cars and work in the yard!

Shouldn't the thicker lugs (everyone seems to hate :) ) on the new supercased ceramics extend that number a bit?

my DSSD ran -2 per day for first 2 weeks and than it settled in at around + 1 per day.

some people say a watch doesent 'break in' some people say they do.

X2 My Datejust took about 2 months to settle in. Now it is insanely accurate. Same thing with the 'date click' at midnight. Was moving around at which exact second it changed over, now it is consistently the same time (22 seconds after midnight).
