Plaza 57 worst place ever don't ever buy there
today i took off from work and decided to walk Manhattan, stop by central watch in grand central then the big T funny story happen there i'll tell you later lol, and walk up to plaza 57 the worst place I've ever been to as of retail stores, the guy lee was on the phone and everything a customer walked in they are trapped the door locks behind you and when you try to leave he then forces you to stay to do business, this place was very unprofessional the girl he had working for him looks like she was in training and to top it all of i asked if he had any 5512/5513 and he said yes came back with a 5513 and said its James bond watch????????????? really, then he said he will give me a written authentication for the watch my hole demeanor change and i just wanted to kick him in the face really bad so i just left i can't say nothing else but if you are looking to buy there run and run fast that's my heads up to you.

Sorry Michael! I recommended it to you, never bought there but the selection seemed great but overpriced.
The locking in, I thought was a security measure, but you're probably right that they want to get you to stay. |

I've been to a bunch of high-end watch and jewelry shops that have a lock which requires you to be buzzed in as well as out. Of course, though, it's definitely not cool if they won't let you out.

no you don't get it i swear what this guy did was crazy he made sure the door was locked am not sure if it was because he didn't trust me but for the other people that was not cool yea you get buzzed in but making sure it's locked is scary and you can't see anything unless you fill the form out

He did the same to me. Tourist trap. He makes you fill out a form and then when you need to leave he has to buzz you out or else your trapped.

Id tell them a couple of not so nice words and threaten them with my lawyer if they dont let me out. I bought my DJ from a place on 42nd and 5th and it was a great experience. Sorry you had to go through that.

I think I went there when I was in Manhatten a few years ago. Me and my buddy (I think he was 6years old at the time) wandered in to look at some coins and Rolexes. The prices were OK, but when I wanted to pass and leave, the owner (I think he was the owner, maybe he was just the lead dog) got a little too persuasive. I ended up getting a little stern with him, and he let me out.

Same experience last year for me, I had to raise my voice for him to let me and my wife out. She was scared, not good when you are trying to get your wife into watches, there have to be better places than this.

I can understand to buzz in and out as a security measure but to fill out a form is just insane.

That place is a joke. Everything for sale is over priced and over valued. they prey on unsuspecting tourists and desperate sellers looking for cash

Sounds like an absolute nightmare visit, however, he is right, the 5513 is a Bond watch, worn by both George Lazenby and much more famously by Roger Moore, equiped with a magnet and a buzzsaw bezel.

From the stories here it's a wonder he's stayed in business 20+ years. BTW, the fire code requires the door have a barge-open feature - pull heavily on it for more than a few seconds and voila' you're free!

might want to stay away from Bachendorf's in Dallas too, unless you like being treated like garbage and having a sales person try to steal your watch.

Couldn't DISAGREE with you more! The staff there have always been very pleasant to deal with, which is why I continue to return...
