Rolex Bracelets made in house.

From my google fu, I can see that they used to be outsourced, but as far as I can tell they are now made at Rolex. I had a conversation with a guy who says his friend makes bracelets for Rolex in Thailand. I told him I was pretty sure this is not the case, because AFAIK Rolex makes them in house. He said he'd check w/ his friend and get back to me. Today he comes back and says they make the parts for the bracelet , but that they are assembled at Rolex.

Does this sound right? I told him I still disagreed, and was almost sure that rolex made the entire bracelet in house. Soo to keep from putting my foot in my mouth, I figured I'd ask here.

I surely don't "know"...

But I'd wager that they are made in-house. They do their own smelting for crying out loud!

I am also in agreement with it being made in house.

The bracelet clasp is marked Rolex with a date code. Doesn't sound outsourced to me.

The precious metals are made to their exacting metallurgy. The ss is 904L.

Case closed. In-House.

Good question, I believe the boxes the watches (Rolex) come in are from China so it would not surprise me one bit if the parts for the bracelet are outsourced as well... But of course I do not know

I have an ESQ Chronograph that is marked Swiss Quartz on the dial, which is the equivalent of Swiss Made for a mechanical watch, I have read.

However, the band is clearly marked as being made in Hong Kong.

I would hope that Rolex would be at least as forthcoming as Movado.

By bracelet parts do you mean the links or the screws that hold them together?

Bracelet clasp states Swiss Made, so sounds like BS.

BTW, Ryan, glad to see you've resurfaced and well after hiding for a year.

Ha, I was hiding! Well hiding my checkbook. Spent the last year shooting long range tactical rifle matches. It's just to freaking hot in the summer to go shooting!

At one time back in the 1960-70s the bracelets were made in many parts of the world ranging from England, USA, and even Mexico. Some gold bracelets were made in Italy and some gold cases were made in England. This was mainly to save on import tax at that time now all bracelets cases are all Swiss made by Rolex. Not 100% sure now the only part Rolex still out source is the mainspring and perhaps they still out source some hairsprings.
