Advice on 14060M
I have an AD willing to sell me a sub no-date for 20% off msrp and no taxes. I consider this a very good deal. He has one in stock and I want the watch, but I do not really need a 5th ROLEX.
My gut tells me to make the purchase, since it is in stock and a good deal. I know that alot of you really desire the date function, but I have a Daytona and seem to get by without forgetting the date. I mean, how many times a day do you look at your watch for date keeping. However, how does this watch hold it value versus the sub-date? To lessen the blow on my wallet I am considering selling my TT DJ, it does not get as much wear and I figure I can always get another one. Please help me make the right decision. Thanks |

Personally, I'd jump on that deal. True it is just me, but you don't hear of that type of discount on a sports model much, and the reference is about to be changed, I'll wager. Does it have the COSC certification and chapter ring branding? If not, I would definitely grab it! Like I said, just my .02.

The 14060M is the LAST "untouched" classic iconic Rolex watch of them all.
I really like that is has non SEL's and even the old-style easy pull-out diver's extension link. And without the COSC writing and CRB, it is just such a nice uncluttered dial to look at! GET IT, I'd say!

Get it. I love it because it doesn't scream Rolex. It sort of whispers "maybe I'm a Seiko, maybe I'm a Rolex. Wouldn't you like to know."

If you like it then get it. Do not get it because it is a good deal. YOu would be better to pay full mrsp on a watch you really like than to get a "good deal" on a watch that is ambivalent with you.

I think one of the key things would be if it is the newer COSC model. This will probably be a collector's watch.

I later picked up a used SD after a short stint with a pepsi GMT. The SD quickly became my daily wearer, and I became attached to it having the date. If you have a regular date-sub, then you may run into this like I did. They look similar enough that you end up looking for the date which isn't there. It was a great watch otherwise, no mechanical or quality complaints. Get an SD! (unless you already have one) |

look at the financial side if your not willing an extra Rolex you can also sell to someone else with some profit :). The profit can be used for the service for your other Rolex
