Icon19 Grupo Modelo (Corona beer) purchased today!

Ab InBev just finalized purchasing the remainder stocks from Modelo for 20.1 Billion US.

....This means that we will see a LOT of Ab InBev products in Mexico (as of July, Stella Artois is available @ 7-Eleven in Mexico) and Modelo products world wide (Corona, Modelo, Negra Modelo, Pacifico, etc.....)

Cheers to that!

Just to be clear, it isn't finalized...they have a definitive agreement to buy remaining control. The deal is set to be completed in the first quarter of 2013 subject to U.S. and Mexican regulatory approval. And since they also own Stella - EU may wade in.

I expect some divestiture in certain brands/markets will be a condition to approval.

You are right, some issues still have to be dealt with, but InBev has made the ''official' offer.

I hope this allows for them to bring Noche Buena during the Christams Holidays to the States. What a great recipe.

Sure and their shrewed too! They caught Jr. and Sr. asleep during the whole Anheuser-Busch take over, not that they could stop it just that InBev saw the opening and grabbed it. I get the feeling their CEO does a pretty good Dr. Evil imitation?
