Vintage Tudor Advisor

Any thoughts? Pre-buying checklist of things to look out for? They seem pretty underappreciated. I have been thinking about the Memovox but then thought, hey, what about the Advisor...

Cheers,
Patrick

correct me if I am wrong these were only 34mm. these have been faked as well, I have run across one before, almost pulled the trigger but when I researched it at home I found out I had dodged a bullet. The things I noticed on the fake were around the two crowns, it just looked like they had used a dremel tool to carve out where the winding stems went through the case, it was also an unusual case shape (way too flat) around where the crowns were. Additionally, I would double check the dial as always. The one I ran across had a different dial than I had ever seen.

You could try to stick to one of the ones in here:

At least that gives you a point of comparison to start with. I am no expert, but hope it helps.

I used to have an article just about the Advisor bookmarked after my run in, but I cannot find it now. Somebody had written a full article that was online (similar to this one, that I thought had completely outlined all the variations). If someone else has it maybe they will post it....

Be careful out there, many people have told me the market is flooded with fakes, and really good ones....
