Icon17 Sub 16610LV: Dial Picture Request

hi guys,
i'm doing some research on LV dial variations and it'd be great if you could post a nice clear close up of your LV's dial - only interested in the discontinued LV

I'm also keen to know the serial and first three digits including date of purchase, as per below.

If your LV has been serviced and given a service dial, please state this.

When I have enough info, I'll post my report when I have enough data and dials to work with.

thanks guys!!

Serial: F313xxx
Purchased: July 2004

Serial: M277xxx
Purchased: May 2008

I'll play, Puffy.

Serial: M421

Purchased: April 10, 2008.

Never serviced, never opened, original untouched insert, the bracelet has never been off. Absolutely as it came from Rolex.

thanks for these they're good resources, however, there are discrepancies which i'm going to uncover... So far Mondani's research, below, is the most accurate.

there are also lume plots variations which need to be investigated..

Because we're dealing with Rolex
It's just "one of those things".

Puffy,

Has your M had a dial change? I have never seen a "5 tick" dial this late, among a couple more anomolies.

Actually appears you have a MKII dial in your M serial. Did you purchase that watch first hand?

it's untouched mate - this is exactly why i want to do this as there are so many different dials popping up completely out of sequence.

my M's dial even has an Oval "O" and "R" in Oyster aligned right under "R" in Rolex.

if you look at the above Mondani dial reference, my M277 should in fact have been a MK5 like your M421, instead mine is a much later MK.

References that lie close to my M, also use MK5 dials

More interestingly, look at my F313, it uses an MK3 dial, whereas all other Fs use MK2 dials. My F's MK3 dial was only used for a very short period of time in very early D's.

One could conclude that Rolex has a 2mx2m box full of dials and when needed a little elf picks one out...

We need many more dials so we can spot trends and anomalies

Those are the "anomolies" I was referring to. Just more proof that Rolex is like a box of chocolates ...

Here you go Anders. Mine currently has a black bezel insert installed.

Serial: F02xxxx

Date of Purchase: I am not the original owner (this was a DavidSW purchase) and unfortunately the original date of purchase (along with name of original owner) has been scribbled out, I'm assuming for privacy purposes. For what it's worth it came with a Flat 4 bezel.
