got a Speedy!

Long time lurker and after a few months of lusting over nice watches I bought my first: A Speedmaster Professional 3570! I'm very happy. Got it pre-owned from tourneau. They gave me some talk that "they were the only ones that owned it but they have to sell it as pre-owned". Yet, I didn't get an omega box or card. Oh well. I'm still pleased. This watch is awesome!
Next up is a 114060 Submariner! Or a GMT Master II ... I can't decide.

I don't think I got much of a deal, but I'm satisfied. They said it was new old stock or something like that. But i googled the serial number and it says it was made between 07-08. The watch is pretty spotless though, so not much to complain about.

Congratulations on your Speedy Pro!

Unfortunately, it sounds like Tourneau is still Tourneau.

Love it on the leather with deployment. So, pricey though. T

The strap is actually Alligator on a stainless steel double-deployment. Picked it up from Lonestar Watch Straps (http://lonestarwatches.com/Alligator) a few years ago. Very comfortable and is the perfect addition to the Speedy Pro when a suit is in order! The Speedy Pro is one of the most versitile watches in the Omega line-up and looks good on all kinds of straps, NATOs, etc. Cheers!

Congratulations on the Speedy!

Of your 2 Rolex choices, I'd pick the GMT. You get more value for the money in the same basic package.

Congrats. I, too, recently purchased a NOS Speedy Pro, though mine is a "Last man on the Moon LE". From the front, though, just a 'regula'r Speedy.. ;)

Thanks guys. I Still love my speedy. But after almost 6 days it's running 19-22 seconds slow per day. I wind it every morning and usually leave it face up. Is this normal?

That's not right even by Speedmaster acceptable rates. Maximum Should be 15 seconds for Speedmaster since it's not COSC but 19-22 means it needs a regulation... Tourneau should have done that for the watch before selling to you.... Did you get the Tourneau warranty?

Yes. I have the tourneau warranty. Should I take it back to them to be regulated or take it to the omega boutique?

Moon Pro on black leather is my favorite way to see a speedmaster.

Warranty is only through Tourneau unfortunately. Maybe a nice AD will regulate it for you free of charge. If you were in NYC I could do it.

Mine was less than a year old and began to lose about 15 sec/day. I recently had it serviced by Omega under warranty and it is now +3 to -1 sec/day. I usually lay it face-up at night.

After a few more days its still loosing time. First 20 then 55seconds! Then 30 the next day. Then 20. It is not consistent. I'm going to have to take it in. Is there a "break in" time? Tourneau said it was sitting around for a while, supposedly they were the only ones who owned the watch (serial # looks to be 2006-2008).
I really like this watch but I'm frustrated. Makes me think I should have paid the extra money for a new one at a Omega boutique.

I'm really frustrated with this watch. I love it but it keeps loosing time, inconsistently but always loosing time. -20 seconds one day, -55 seconds another, -30 seconds. I reset it last night: while sitting face up over 11 hours it lost only 1 second. Then I put it on today and over 7 hours of a normal day it lost 11 seconds! The chronograph was not used.
What is going on? I'm not sure the Tourneau warranty would cover this. I'd like to return it and go buy a new one at the boutique but I don't think they do 'returns'. This was not worth the savings.

I think I should take it to the Omega Boutique and have it regulated. What is involved in that?

Any opinions?

Does changing positions help on a hand wound movement?
