Decision Rolex 16710 or JLC Tribute to 1931 2012?

Hi everyone. I have found two watches I love. One is a Rolex 16710 with Coke bezel and the other is the new for 2012 JLC 1931 Tribute Reverso with the brown Fagliano strap. This edition is limited to 100 pieces and is close to being sold out. The other choice is a Rolex GMT II with Coke bezel. I have seen recently in the for sale section a few models with the 3186 movement that have intrigued me. I want both but can only think about getting one for now.

As some may have noticed I already have a Reverso, just not the classic model and I do not own a Rolex for myself yet but I have bought two for my wonderful wife!

I attached a couple of images I borrowed from the internet.

I know this is a Rolex based forum but it is my favorite forum with some of the most knowledgeable watch enthusiasts on the planet! What are your thoughts on this dilemma I am in?

If it were me, I would go for the Rolex. You apparently already have a very similar watch, so a change up would be a good idea.

In the beginning that is how I thought, get a watch from a company I do not have already. I am caught up in the limited factor of the Tribute. I guess I am thinking that the watch will not be easily found in the future.

Since you already have a Reverso I'll go 16710. Besides, the faux patina on the Reverso tribute is not my style.

I'd get the TTR first due to availability issues later, then get the Rolex. I love my 2011 TTR!

I love your TTR too! I am so confused! I seem to be confusing watch types as well. They are both so different from each other and yet both iconic!

As for the argument that the RGG is too similar to the TTR, they're very different feeling watches. I loved my RGG but the TTR is absolutely the bomb.

They are very different. The right answer is to get both... It's just a question of which first.

16710 with 3186 is hard to come by.

If you get the GMT first and the JLC is then sold out, you might end up kicking yourself for having let it go. You might then have a long wait on your hands before one pops up in the secondhand market.

On the other hand if you get the JLC first, you can have peace of mind knowing that when finances permit you can always buy a GMT, "Coke'' or otherwise because there were so many that were made.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck deciding!

Thanks for everyone's input! Hopefully the right choice will make itself very clear soon!
