It was my fathers he bought it 1969 and wore it as a everyday work watch. It stopped working in the late 80's and was put in a box he passed away in 1996 and my mother had it till she passed away in Aug. I got it and had a new mainspring installed and a crystal I use it as my everyday watch. regards Troy

i have the 7928 with gilt dial and pointed crown guard. i buy the watch in a antique shop 2 years ago,and the price increased like a rocket.

I would take care of that for the sentimentality alone.
There has been a resurgence in Tudors lately as well. I'm sure that is worth much more than your father paid for it.. Give Rolex Canada a call and see if they can get it refurbished and returned to "like new" condition, or if they can recommend a good vintage Tudor restorer..
