1982 gmt?

Folks, I am at a bit of a loss here. I have been looking long and hard for a GMT (1982) or GMTII that I can truly fall in love with, preferably with a Pepsi bezel. However, I have noticed that 1980 = 6mil serial and 1983 = 7mil. Should I assume anything past a 6.6mil serial is a 1982 model? Sounds silly but I am no vintage expert. If anyone has another thread they know of with this info or an answer, I would love to hear it. Also, is this vintage generally desirable?

Not sure man....I'm dying for a 1980 GMT, but those buggers are tough to find.

You may consider buying a watch made the year before your target date.. The time between manufacture of the case, completing the watch and getting it through the distribution cnanne to a final retail sale seems to be about 1 yr +/-.

They are around. I have a 16750 and 16753 that are both 1982. Look in the reference library as the chart there states 7 mil to 7.8 mil are 1982. No one knows for sure when they were sold so try to get close to that range and enjoy!

Here is one that is probably close. It doesn't give the exact serial but worth inquiring.

7,366,000 through 7,859,999 will get you close enough to that '82 16750.
