rolex pocket watch . real or fake ?
hi everyone i `m new to this forum, i had a 9ct rolex pocket watch but not to sure whether it is a real one or not .does anyone can give me some advice? thx.

It's certainly real and a very lovely piece indeed. (Don't let anyone tell you otherwise)
The movement dates it to about 1920/1930 as far as I know. The reference to the 7 World's Records is to do with early watch testing and accreditation by the Swiss watch manufacturing companies. Lower down on the case you'll see the Swiss cross 9K which means 9kt Gold and the serial number. Nice piece. Look after it - it's worth a lot of money. |

thanks to reply my question. i`ve been told that the watch is a fake one as it has a unusual hands as well as the movement does not looks like a real one .this is what i really concern about it .

It is a puzzle that rare pocket watches don't fetch the value of equally rare wrist watches.

There must be a price demand curve over time that some promising math major could work out. I notice that many models dip in value compared to MSRP for a period, then hold at some residual value, and then move upward as a function of inflation + popular demand appreciation.
There are certain outliers like the PLN Daytona or the original grand complications that have skyrocketed. But for the most part, each model seems to follow the curve by varying degrees.
