Might go back to Panerai....comments in 177?

Hi there. Long story made short, I bought a 113 when Panerai first came to he US, wore it for years and sold it (don not ask me why). Somehow, I miss the hand wound mobement and the unique design, and the sandwich dial is a beauty. So my AD suggested titanium, something 'warm' and different.

What are your opinions othe 177 vs steel sandwich?

Thank you for your comments!

It is just preference.

I like my watch to have some steel weight to it. Some like the Ti floaty feeling.

"If" I were to get a Ti watch, I'd go with an older brown dial variant with a painted dial. So I'm no help!

If you are asking if they'll hold their value, yeah they are on par with SS watches.

MMMMMM PAM 55.

I like the 177 but prefer a SS. Have you tried the 111 or 112?

Good luck!

Thank you all for your comments. Yes, I have tried the SS options, and they feel great, however, this could be my first Ti watch and I have to admit that weight is 'weird' (big watch, no weight!). What to do, what to do....

Looks are all subjective, but even though the weight difference between steel & titanium is not drastic, it is noticeable. I can wear my 177 more loosely (by 1 notch) than my 390 and it doesn't flop around uncomfortably. It also goes with everything, so its just a great all around daily wearer.

My only caveat is that IMO the 177 looks best with either the OEM croc or a darker strap, so the strap choices are more limited than with a 111, 005 or similar steel model.

Go steel.111 or 112, the best sandwiches to start again. Happy hunting.

Good watch, but many as noted prefer the heft of steel >>

I just find Ti watches too light, but others prefer it as they want the size, but not the weight

I think the ti looks great on light straps too. Especially since the ti gets a bit darker with age. It's extremely versatile imho.

I prefer the brightness of brushed SS to brushed Ti.

If you really want Ti, I think Mik is giving some great advice above.

My first PAM was a #177.
I miss it, still.
The only Luminor I'll ever own.
I have a couple of Radiomir.

Glad I sold mine to a friend who is visiting in New Year.

Delightful to wear, the lesser weight makes up for it not being a cushion case.
My two bobs worth.

cheers

I have a couple Ti watches and they are nice.
I have a few Panerai, I would not buy a Ti Panerai.
They are nice but they are not Panerai to me.
