A recent love for Omega brought me deeper
I use to just focus on the Speedy Pro but recently my focus changed and I sold nearly all my Speedy, keeping only the standard Moonwatch.
With the funds, I bought a SMP300 James Bond and later will be collecting from the shop a PO2500 42mm. I earlier bought the latest PO8500 but sold nearly immediately as I cannot take that thickness. The PO2500 sits better on my 6.5in wrist. Now that I still have some funds remaining (yes! ), I am contemplating a discontinued NOS SMP300. I think the ref is 2255, blue wave dial and steel bezel on speedy bracelet. However it seems the 2255 are not so popular (I stand corrected) and more love is towards her black bezel black wave 2254. I don't think my dealer has a NOS 2254 but the offer of that BNIB unworn 2255 is hard to pass. To the 2255 owners here, what are your thoughts of this watch? It seems to be caught between dress and sport. Well, maybe more towards dress due to the full steel bezel. I think I am swimming too deep into the reign of the Omega divers Thanks in advance you "enablers" |

I quote this pic from member "RXPete". Allow me to borrow your pic for illustration, thanks Peter.
I think this is the one I am refering to. The blue dial seems muted in some pics and electrifying in others. I am not sure if the blue dial that I am interested in, is it matt blue or electric blue...or is there only 1 type of blue. thanks! |

The 2255.80 "Electric Blue" is the watch that moved me out of my focus on Speedmasters into the realm of SMPs. I have owned two and deeply regret selling them.
Gazing down at this always put a smile on my face: The sword hands made for awesome lume: I usually wore mine on the Omega mesh: But here it is on a Hirsch Mobile: Here's my favorite photo of all time: And a final photo of the blue beauty: |

Thanks Fr John as usual i can feel you passion for Omega.
Is the steel bezel like a fingerprint magnet? what colors are the numerals on the bezel, are they black or blue? I agree the strong lume! Today I saw her in person. at some angles, the dial appears dark blue to black. if you tilt it slightly, the electric blue gets released right into your eyes! Cool! |

To me, the dial reminds me of the Caribbean waters that are dark in the deep and lighten up as the waters shallow. |

I had one of these and rue the day I sold it.... To me, it's one of the classiest watches ever made. I had never even considered putting a leather strap on it but as the pictures show, it really looks great!
Never part with this one or you'll be crying in your beer for some time to come. That said, I love my new Omega Speedmaster (44mm) and my PO XL. But really, I shouldn't have parted with the 300m electric blue dial. |

Finally. an hour ago, I left the AD with a brandnew 22558000!
The dial mesmerizes! I am still trying to get used to the shiny bezel... Pics soon. Thanks for all the advice. 3 Seamasters in a month, I must be crazy :) |

New Electric Blue
Hi everyone! I am new and have been lurking for awhile now. I recently decided to reward myself with a new PO 8500 with orange numbers and decided to visit a local Jareds and check them out. While I was there, he showed me an Electric Blue that he said had been in the showcase for a few years.
I went ahead and ordered my PO and should have it in about 6 weeks, but after seeing all the love on this board for the EB, I have decided to go and pick it up tomorrow since new ones are a rare breed! So because of everyone on this board, I went from owning a citizen blue angel watch, to 2 Omega automatics! Good thing I'm not married or I'd have some 'splainin to do'. I'll post some wrist shots tomorrow since that seems to the right thing to do. |

This is my 9 years old 2232.80 fresh from service. Almost like 2255 but in Titanium.
