Will you allow your friend or family to wear your rolex
Hi all
Will you allow your friends or family to borrow your rolex to wear on different occasions. I lent few watches, not rolexes of course to few and got back a scratched watch. All I got back in return, I am sorry, it was an accident and didn't mean to !!!!! How would you deal with this situation |

My wife, absolutely!
My sons, yes - when they're older. Anyone else, depends. Sorry to hear you got some scratches, but....If you lend it out, you have only yourself to blame for the condition on return. So if you can't deal... don't do it.

Sometimes i feel bad to turn people down. Especially when they have high expectations for you. Not all can buy fancy watches

My sons are the only ones that are allowed to wear my watches. They take good care of them and only get to wear them on special occasions.

I don't mind lending them to my brother (the only one who could potentially ask for such a thing). In all honesty I do not baby my watches but my girlfriend would be the type of woman to accidently drop it on the floor and crack the crystal very badly, I'd lend a watch to her but would make sure she knows she must be quite careful. As for my friends, I wouldn't mind but I don't think they would ever think about wearing my watches so I doubt it will happen.

TBH I olny have my brothers and cousins asking me to wear my watches not friends. But some are very careless and feel bad to ask them to be careful. It sounds cheap from my side

No, for in the end, no one treats other people's property like it's their own.
"I'm sorry," doesn't remove the damage. |

Nope. If it's not in my possession, then I don't believe it's insured.

I wear my watches I just don't advertise what they are. Most of my friends don't really notice or care what watches I wear.

I've traded watches with collector friends, just a temporary road test so we could each try something the other had to see how we liked it. It's given me the opportunity to sample some watches I wouldn't have gotten around to buying for a while, and in a couple of cases, it's helped disabuse me of the notion that I want or need certain models. It's a lot less stressful to have the honeymoon wear off when you haven't put any money out on the watch you've suddenly grown tired of.

my gf gets too scared to borrow mine, she has her own anyways, a TT chopard, Diamond bezel Hublot Big bang w/ white strap, Cartier something dont know what lol
my cousins how ever like to borrow it for a brief moment, I usually suggest it. I think they should move over to the gold watches so I let them wear it for a few days to get used to the weight. |

I let my brother try on my Explorer II around the house thinking it would be cool since he wasn't going anywhere...let's just say I'm sure the mark on the lug from the encounter with the wall will hopefully come out at some point.

Wife has her own 26mm TT Datejust diamond dial, professionally engraved on the back with private meaning...she virtually only takes it off to send it to Dallas RSC. So has zero interest in my watches. My 10 year old and 5 year old...well let's just say many years of responsibility training lie ahead before that happens. Rest of relatives live out of state and my friends don't give a rip as many of them are likewise infected with "WISteria" and consequently display many of the "outward signs" of the disease.

Its a watch, don't mind other people wearing it, undies are a bit personal though.
Thats the Rolex though, the Seamaster is another story, nobody touches it ever.
