God bless ya man. Will be interesting to see where this thing goes. Who knows, could turn left and come for us. We're both well versed in hurricanes. Watching the news and on the ready to fill up my tanks for the generator.

Im in Miami now just got off my balcony which is 120feet up and the winds are consistent at about 45 mph with gusts up to around 70! Fun stuff but dangerous! I keep seeing transformers blow up in the distance! Be safe everyone!

Hopefully it heads more towards a less populated Florida pan handle. Filled my tank in Houston just in case.

I am in Terrebonne, slightly South and West of New Orleans. Reports are that Jim Cantore is in New Orleans.

I went to the store and we got gas for the generator and gassed up both trucks. Just in case. Schools here are closed, evacuations started for the southern end of our Parish. We are gonna batten down the house tomorrow. I just had storm shutters installed last year.

We got hit in years past by Andrew, Katrina, Rita, Gustav, Ike.

A little history, In 1900 a hurricane often referred to as "Isaac's storm" almost wiped Galveston off the face of the earth. Isaac Cline was the meterologist the storm was named after. I HATE that this thing is named Isaac.....

Be safe! Disturbing reports that this thing could really strengthen over the Gulf, posing a real threat. Hoping for the best!

I had 17 feet of water in my house for Katrina. This won't be the same thing. Not sure where you are Warren G, but I fueled up at the Chevron on Rampart next to the First District Police Station at about 7:15PM and I was the only car there. I'm confident in the new levee system, at least for a storm of this magnitude. My biggest concern is flooding due to rain, although my condo is nowhere close to street level. Good luck to you and the rest of us in harm's way.

Only 4 feet? How nice, we have been below 40% for over a year.

I hate that NOLA seems to get the worst of hurricanes. I mean Galveston has had its epics but just seems the most fragile wetlands and deltas on LA seem to get hit so often.

Where y'at????

Katrina was rough here in Houma, but we really took a beating for Gustav. If you want to watch some hilarity.... our local TV station streams online periodically.

Warning there are no subtitles and some of our residents can be hard to understand.

Be careful and stay safe!!!...Houma took in a huge number of people from the 9th ward and NO East after Katrina.

I worked at the shelter here for weeks after Katrina. I won't ever forget what you guys went through.. had little kids I was treating that didn't know where their parents were at. I am a Nurse practitioner. There was good in it but a lot of horror. I don't want to see that again....

I live in the warehouse district. On August 29, 2005, I lived in Lakeview. I know the areas where both of you live, especially NO East. Good luck.

Good luck. We were spared in Miami, though last night the wind was as strong as I saw lately.

Be safe out there.
