Long wait + Holiday = New Pelagos

Hello All,

First, I would like to thank everyone for taking a moment out of your busy day to view my new Tudor Pelagos!

My story... I had been wanting a Tudor sub snow flake for some time, but had been nervous about all the franken watches and I really wanted to buy NIB (nearly impossible) when all of sudden I noticed the pelagos while refreshing the Tudor site a million times during the first hours of Basel 2012. At the time, I was on the metra train heading to work (roughly 7:30AM) using a sprint card and was able to find an AD in Windsor CA... gave em a call and they were shocked that I was willing to place a downpayment on a model they had never heard of before my call. Couple days later, my AD called me from Basel and said the piece looked great in person and I can expect arrival between Sept-Oct of this year. Over the months we talked maybe once a month and Anthony (salesman) was great with keeping me up to date and sending me content to read along the way!

Well, I had just canceled my Holiday plans when Anthony gave me a call last Thursday and said my pelagos should arrive on Friday. Skyped the wife, made travel arrangements and was in Canada by Saturday early afternoon. Anthony was great and spent couple hours giving me a tour of their shop and letting me try on everything from full gold YM2's to Montblanc Nicolas, which I can't stop thinking about and had never considered before this trip.

The lighting is horrible tonight, so I can add more photo's tomorrow if any one would like to see more. Also, I was second guessing this piece in recent weeks due images that I had seen made the watch look to thick. To be honest, I went thinking that I would flip the piece for that reason. Couldn't be further from the truth... turned out not to be that thick (guessing 13mm) and I love the way it sits on my 7.25 wrist and slides under a shirt cuff!

I much prefer this one to the Black Bay. This looks like a serious Tudor, the BB has that faux vintage look I despise.

Congrats!!!!

I don't have a micrometer, but using something around the house it came to 12.5mm and it seems to be the identical thickness to my B. Colt Auto, which spec's at 12.4mm. I think a lot of the thickness appearance issue is due to the cut of the case. My 39mm explorer case is very round and sleek and is roughly 10.5mm, but appears very small next to the pelagos with its straight industrial type lines...imho. Tried to capture in a photo, but they are bad... sorry!

Excellent choice, congrats!

As a Heritage chrono owner I'm sure the quality exceeded your expectations. And like the THC Tudor has really stepped up to the plate to deliver another winner.
Enjoy,
dP
