SD 16600 dial

I saw a "P" SD with tritium dial and SEL
Price is USD 5k watch only condition 9/10.
is this a fair price??

Then I also encountered a "P" SD with 'Swiss made'.
Does the "P" dial comes in 2 version?
and which is more desirable

thank you

The 16600 SD has always had a SEL since launch in 1988/9 its very doubtful to be a Tritium dial being a P serial. But with Rolex nothing is written in stone, in general the change from Tritium took place around 1998 and no 16600 SD is more desirable than any other 16600 SD.Since its launch in 1988/9 the only changes are the lume, non lug hole case, a few minor fonts and different case stamps. Its possible that the lug hole case with Tritium dial might be a tiny bit more collectible in perhaps 20 years time but don't bank on it far to many around.

I went back to look at the SD again. It's a 'P" with lugholes, SEL and Swiss-T<25.
Could it be the dial was replaced or it's original?
Really interested but at USD 5,000 is it on a high side?
No box and paper only watch. condition: 95%

a "U" series will have a t<25 dial. That's as far as you can go to get tritium.

"A" series mostly Swiss or Swiss Made.

A "P" is most definitely non triium.

But anything Rolex is a myth, so who knows!;)

imo

Yeah, P wouldn't be tritium. I would have it inspected by an expert if you're serious. Could be a franken. P should be luminova. Depending on condition and if everything checks out, $5k may be a fair deal.
