GMT's with Multiple Inserts
I'm curious as to how often the owners of GMT's, who have multiple inserts that they change out themselves, swap out their inserts.
I've only done it once in the last year to go from black to Pepsi. I'd like to do it every few months but I wonder if that's too often. |

Got all three inserts yet never worn anything other than the pepsi. Nice to have though. Would also like to get a jubilee bracelet for more variety.

I have all three for my GMT and change them a couple times a year. Did it myself first but scratched a lug. My watchmaker will do it while I wait so I let him do it.
Btw, since it's now fall time to change from Pepsi to coke. dP

I will tell you that if you have a good watchmaker to do it utilize him. Most of us have no buisness fooling around with a 5000 dollar watch this way. Mistakes can and do happen. Scratches and tiny little lost parts do happen.

I keep my Pepsi insert on my GMT II, since I like my GMT II to look original.

I swap from Pepsi to black every few months. I do it myself as it's very simple on a 16750.

I've got a new/service pepsi insert and the original faded old one, which always stays on the watch. Never changed it, and doubt I ever will. Maybe I'll sell the new one...

My RSC advised me to limit changes. The more you pry off your bezel and squeeze jt back on, the looser the connection becomes. It stands to reason as metal on metal will eventually begin to loosen.

Yep, a Watchmaker told me the same thing. Occasionally not bad probably but It will stretch and wear eventually.

I have changed my subLV insert once every month or two since 2009. It is super easy and I have not had any issues thus far. I suppose the bezel could stretch eventually, but for the enjoyment I get from swapping it is worth potentially having to pay for a new bezel someday!

I don't do it on my gmt but do do it with my 1680 and my 16800.
I have 2 bezel sets for the 1680. One black and one blue. For the 16800 I have 3 bezel sets. A black, LV, and blue. Photo before the 3rd bezel was obtained. ImageUploadedByTapatalk HD1348789618.902940.jpg

I have 16710 the original Coke bezel, and spare black and faded Pepsi's to swap out with. I put on the faded Pepsi for the summer and it's still on there. Thinking about making the change back to Coke...

I have a 16710 with one bezel, this one:
Only one I want, only one I'll ever put on it.

I've got two bezels, black and coke. I bought thw GMT with the coke one, then swapped to black for about 2 years and now I'm back to red/black.
