DD back from RSC

The postie has just delivered my DD, it’d been with RSC since 30.08 as a link screw snapped whilst adjusting the bracelet, consequently the screw-head had to be drilled out & a new screw fitted (£134).

RSC offered an explanation that maybe the wrong Loctite/threadlock had been used causing it to stick fast & snap ! ?? I had asked that the broken part be returned so I could share pics with you guys but sadly that didn’t happen.

Anyway, it’s all fixed now plus they’ve given it a spruce up & it’s even more gorgeous than before.

I’ve really missed it over the last few weeks

£134? That's not too unreasonable for a platinum screw + the labour required to drill it out.

Continue to enjoy it in good health!

Lovely watch mate - stunner. Ive a question does the platinum get scratched easy? My gold DD got scratched to easy and I ended up selling it (although I've regretted it ever since).

I didn’t think the price was too bad given the work involved , however RSC say that the screw is WG not platinum, I questioned the mixing of the two metals however RSC were quite insistent saying that Rolex doesn’t use Pl screws !!

Looks great!

I wonder who gets to keep the scrap WG? Honesty would dictate that the old link screw be returned to you, seeing as you paid for the new screw. Bad form on Rolex behalf.

I can see how the relatively soft WG screw could have become stripped.. Sometimes people really tighten those screws down.. don't know why, they don't actually hold anything in place so should just be snug w/loctite.

Geez what a rip; 12 quid for a screw and a hundred to get out the old one! £100!? Nuts.
Oh well, enjoy, it's a beauty!

What??? I have a brand new Plat DD, I'm under the assumption that EVERYTHING was Plat! I'd be quite disappointed that the screws are WG??? Can anyone else confirm???

Great to see it's home Chris ...

I just received my "ultimate Rolex" that had it's service and a dial change back in April '12 and this watch looks brand new. It went to the Dallas RSC before I took ownership (last Wednesday). I am still in Awe -Ronbo

I tried that watch on once in an AD's store and was bowled over by its looks and feel! That has to be one of the most desirable Rolexes - congrats!
