Rolex Sub - New or Old
Hi guys,
Just wanted your opinion on whether I should purchase the new Sub ND (114060) OR older style Sub ND (14060m). Price difference between the two is $500 in favour of the 14060. The price difference is not a major deciding factor but would like to hear your opinion if you were in my position. Thanks all. :) |

You are either getting a fantastic price on the 114060 (MSRP 7500 USD) or you are over paying for the 14060 (MSRP 6300 USD).
Don't know about Austrailia, but the AD's in the US are just now getting the new ND, so discounts are rare to non-existent. |

I'd go even older and get a 5513. A more authentic Submariner experience, IMO

I agree that that is either a fantastic deal on a new 114060, or a very expensive mark-up on an old 14060.
If it's the fantastic deal, I would go for it.. If it's an overpriced 14060, there isn't much point - they are plentiful.

New sub, much better bracelet and the glidelock is a great feature. I also prefer the size of the maxi case.

Why is an old Nd Sub more $$$$ than a new ND SubC. That makes zero sense to me. The 14060 is still sitting in almost every AD. You are either getting the best deal I've seen on the 114060 or paying an arm, leg, and first born son too much for the14060.

Are you in Melb? If you are, there's a BNIB unworn 114060 at Armadale Watch Gallery for $6900 ex GST which is a pretty damm good price.

Shop around. Go to other ADs to see how much a 14060M is. If, it's only ~$400 difference you may want to go with the new if you want the upgradesin the new C. Conversely you may want to go with the classic Sub.
As others have pointed out, either you're getting a great deal on a 114060 or the 14060 is being marked up considerably. Good luck. Just remember, whatever you choose... pics or it didn't happen! Cheers, |

I love the lug holes on the 14060 and the maxi lugs on the 1104060 weren't a good look for me. Buy what you like. If you do go for the 14060 why not get used like new and save some dough cause your gonna want another eventually...

Thanks guys. I think it's the new one for me. I do believe the AD is over charging me for the older model (14060).
Thanks again. :) |

The 14060m's are gone here in New York and would imagine that is the case in most other metro areas. So it would be your last chance to get one new from an AD. I recently was able to pick one up at an out-of-state AD at the suggested retail of $6,300.00

The split should be a lot higher between the two! Go for the one you like best, you won't be satisfied otherwise..... There's also some fantastic pieces much older. Best of luck on your hunt for the right one!
