:) funny that this article mirrored my sentiments exactly. I don't want to mention brands here but I really did go through the experience of having some of my "better" watches serviced just because I wore them as beater watches for about 2-3 years :( I am pretty hard on my watches though.
I left my DJ and Sub 16610 in the drawer after I got the other brands...but after these experiences , I finally put on my Sub 16610 again (after quite a number of years of not wearing and even winding it) this time on black nato :)...and it's still working flawlessly!
Made me realize that rolex esp the Sub is still the "old reliable" after all ! :)

But I think people will just have to realize that a Sub or Daytona or Gmt are a tool watches...not jewelries. They are workhorses - as I said before, like toyota land cruisers :)

Cool article...as someone with ample education, I can't help but think these writers get off trying to confuse and annoy their readers with the overuse of the english language. It makes me appreciate the easy to read, fun articles...

That was a great article. I love the mention of "expensive prima donna temperamental behavior".

I can relate to the article! I had a 16610 that I flipped because it was too recognizable. Missed it after a few years and bought the SubC! I really don't care what people think now; and yes, I wear it with a suit.

This guy writes just like the Watch Snob . . . I wonder if this is in fact the same guy who writes that column?
