Hi all! New to the forum after having recently acquired an older sD. Sweet, sweet watch, the 16600. This one has some "character" you might say but that's all right as I bought it to be my daily wearer. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1352271719.657577.jpg

A lot of watch enthusiasts will say they wear a watch for personal satisfaction and not to show off or expect compliments. Then why is it that half of the forum is nothing but pictures of people unboxing their new watch and 5 pages of "stunning" "beautiful" "congratulations" "awesome" ad nauseum? It seems a bit self serving and childish. Almost like they need the ego-stroking but know they won't get it in public so have to come here to the forums to get it. 99.9% of the public doesn't know a Fossil from an AP and the 2 organic compliments a year aren't enough for a lot more people than will admit, I guess. "F- wits" as Archie would say.

Congrats, I love mine and you shall yours. This one will never be sold. To me a true true classic, especially since in this form is now obsolete.

Great catch! The good thing about pre-owned 'character' watches, is that they already have scratches etc, so you can immediately start using them as daily watches without being overly protective of them.

Many thanks, gentlemen. I can understand the fondness for the brand. Been eyeing Rolex since I bought a Breitling a few years back... Rolex can without a doubt execute a watch that holds up. Bonus, my tritium still glows a bit and it 's well, not green. Rather cool IMO

What did you pay for yours ? I sold my 1993 S series for $4,500 three years ago with a compete overhaul from the Dallas, Tx service center.
