FS: Vintage Croton Automatic Chronograph w/ Lemania Movement
FS: Stunning Vintage Croton Automatic Chronograph w/Lemania Movement - $775 Shipped
Here’s a super cool and hard-to-find vintage Croton Swiss Made automatic chronograph with the fabled Lemania 1340 movement (featuring both central chronograph seconds and minutes hands). Another plus, this watch features a quickset date, something not seen too often in vintage pieces. Case is in exceptional condition, almost NOS. Overall watch condition is a strong TZ 92%. A super clean example of a very nifty watch that wears well and looks superb. Polished and brushed all stainless steel case measures a perfect size of 39mm without the crown. Lug-edge to lug-edge is 43.7mm. 20mm hooded lugs, case thickness is 14.7mm. Brushed caseback screws down. Slightly domed plastic crystal is clean, several small vertical stress cracks on upper left edge of crystal, does not interfere with anything. Quickset date @ 3. Silver dial with black subdials. Hour and minute hands are black with inset lume. Polished applied markers with small lume dots on the outer edge. Due to the age of the watch, there’s a bit of lume left, but it’s pretty faint. This Lemania movement features both a central chronograph seconds hand and a central chronograph minute hand, plus a 12-hour totalizer at the 6 position. The subdial at 9 is the watch seconds hand. Chrono hands are tipped in orange. Watch is marked ‘water resistant’ (not guaranteed by me). Swiss Made Lemania 1340 automatic chronograph movement was serviced by the previous owner right before I purchased the watch late last year. Movement can be hand wound and runs great, keeps good time. Chrongraph functions as it should. Comes on a nearly new 20mm made-in Germany quality matte black leather DiModell strap with black stitching and two keepers, one fixed, one floating. Silvertone buckle. Watch is sold as-is and does not include any kind of warranty. Will ship in a nicely padded generic box. Watch is in the U.S. Selling for $810 shipped, paid by Paypal, fees included OR $775 shipped, paid by bank wire transfer (preferred) or USPS money order (preferred). CONUS only. No trades. No international sales or Canadian sales. Serious inquiries only, no time wasters, please! Lowball offers will not be responded to.
