Icon5 Your opinion on WG Daytona and future resale please

Thinking about pulling the trigger on a pre owned 18ct WG Daytona.
Obviously it won't have the ceramic bezel. Question is, do you think the resale value of the watch will be effected either way once the ceramic version is released?

Thank you.

You are not losing any money on that watch. I doubt the release of the ceramic will have any effect on resale as it is such an exclusive and desirable watch. I sold my 116509 in February and the market for that watch has gone up $2K since that time. Those 7% yearly increases really matter when the the MSRP is $32K.

For those that don't care for the new ceramic bezel, they will be shopping for the best pre-ceramic they can find and they will pay a premium for it, just like when the ceramic GMT came out.

It's still a big "if" whether any other Daytonas will get the ceramic bezel - time will tell

If u buy it preowned and getting it for 25-40% less than current list, I'd imagine it should hold well for you.
And my opinion I doubt it will gain or drop in any big way if a ceramic bezel is released.

Maybe.

Then again, maybe not.

See it, love it, buy it. Hopefully you never have to sell. But if you did it would be more stable than most currencies!

I don't think it'd have an immediate effect as their won't be any pre-owned ceramic daytona's (with bracelet) on the market for a while. Rolex are also likely to charge a premium for the ceramic model (check out the cost of the ceramic with strap model). Also, Rolex may still sell the current Daytona alongside the ceramic version, who knows.

Just buy what you like. Otherwise, if you are really worried, just wait till the next one comes out and decide then ...
