116610 vs. 114060 case dimensions

Are they the same? I am more interested in the case thickness. Is the 114060 case thinner than the 116610 case because of lack of date function (ie, 14060M case vs. 16610 case)? What about the weight difference?

Hmmm, I'm curious now after reading this.

I would think they are the same, but don't know for sure.

The same size now and cannot see what the point is if there is any weight difference if there is we are talking about one or two grams. .

I have not waded into these discussions before because I simply do not know..

The old 14060 and 16610 had very little in common, were different sizes, and almost none of the parts interchanged..

A couple of folks have posted photos of the 114060 and 116610 and declared "They're the same", but it takes more than that to convince me.. I want to see measurements and decent research of them both together.

I think that it would be pretty poor engineering on Rolex part if they simply dumped in the non-date movement; slapped on a non-cyclops crystal and called it done.. but it's possible - that's how we ended up with the LV version.

Well I would say it was clever engineering with Rolex it makes perfect sense to have one case ring for several models. And the cyclops is just stuck on so again makes sense to use same crystal on all subs. But I am only going on the pictures they do look the same case as the date sub and W/R is the same.

OK I have it on good authority from someone who knows someone who has to know the exact dimensions of both watches because of what he does for a living if you know what I mean, cant say anymore obviously... that they are not exactly the same.

116610 vs. 114060 ... I compared the two last week at my local AD…and with the naked eye the 114060 did look thinner, however I could be wrong.

Would be nice to get a vernier caliper on that 114060 case, but I guess I can wait for the Rolex specifications.
