Having been up down and sideways with Rolex...

and sold/traded them all...finally decided to do something I never thought I'd do....

And whilst I have no idea if I will like the finished product, it is completely reversible.

Will post a picture when I get the watch back reassembled.

Who told you PVD was completely reversible? I've done this a couple of times on non-Rolexes and been told it was NOT reversible.

Not a lot of love for DLC/PVD around here, but it's your watch...do what you want. I, for one, like the look. Looking fwd to seeing the finished product.

I say go for it, don't look back...

I tried on a Ralph Lauren black watch, thought it was both unconventional and very cool...

I have been thinking of doing it to my Milgauss GV. I love how the GV looks with PVD coating. But the fact that Rolex wont touch it after you have done that, and the price...what is the price? Scares me.

I am looking forward to see it.

I'm sure you'll like just please don't coat the bracelet and wear it on a nato or rubber. Keep the bracelet for when (if?) you reverse this.

Enjoy and photos please!

What kind of coating is that? Cerakote, DLC, PVD, something else?

Forgot to come back and update this thread, the only thing I'm not sure about is whether the numbers on the bezel should be filled in in some way, either lacquer or with a colour...any thoughts?

Wow that was an ExplorerII 42mm case? I thought it was a Deepsea case. LOL.
Well it doesn't look terrible, but I wouldn't do it.

There is no way I could do this to my watch. I just don't have the heart. I would probably have a coranary. Lol

I think the numbers would look awesome filled in with some color. Maybe orange or a neon green to make the bezel pop.

I am also interested to see if you found it was reversible

Well as long as you are happy and like it that is all that matters. As for reversible or not? Don't count on it so wear it and enjoy it for years to come. Cheers,
