The night before Christmas!

Hello all This forum is great. Been soaking up lots of good stuff here.

Although I am a long time watch nutcase I have only today moved on my first Rolex! My collecting began almost 20 years ago, at age 5, when my mother gave me a swiss army watch, one I still have today! Like many of you I could not get enough watches I acquired a few more swiss army then moved on to tag's, more recently I have had a soft place in my heart and wallet for Breitlings. My desire for a Rolex came when I started shopping around for what in today's market is considered dare I say a mid size watch? The very aspect of rolex sports watches that drove me away 5 years ago, has pulled me in today! So as the title implies my SS GMTII-C is currently on its way overnight shipping and I feel like a kid again!

Well I can't sleep and you have got me pulling out watches remembering stories attached to each one, something I plan to do until I am six feet under Thought I would share, hope the mods don't mind I promise this thread will end with pics of my new Rolex tomorrow!

It all started with a bunch of quartz watches for me : ) Wish I could say they were speedmasters and subs but hey, they have memories and it was the 90's I tried to put them in chronological order, although I could have one or two out of place. The first swiss army landed in my hands because my mother was dating a man whom that watch was a gift for (my father died very young), needless to say he turned out to be lame and she gave it to me as an impromptu gift! Little did she know she started a costly hobby! Some came for Christmas, others I saved for and bought myself.

Note the lack of taste in my teenage years which led me to take the rubber diving strap off that last SA and put faux white croc print strap on there By high school I started to catch on to this whole idea that the cool watches didn't come with BATTERIES!

My personal favorite is my navitimer world, which is easy to say as my collection is fitting of my age and budget throughout the time. Cannot wait to add the first crown to my collection. Have already ordered a couple NATO's as I love the dress down look.
