well...ding happen

hi guys, I'm careful person especially when wearing my rolex, I always take extra caution when opening door, drawer and etc.

however, I noticed there was already 2 dings, 1 at the bezel, 1 at the clasp

I am pretty sure that I did not knock over anything but it just somehow being dinged

does this happened to you guys before? I mean dinged even without knowing how and why

After the trauma of the first few scratches you'll soon realise that every mark is a memory, enjoy your watch

Never a ding.
Superficial surface scratches come with time, shirt sleeves etc.
Never had a considerable ding at all to be honest, and I wear mine pretty regularly.

I just got my 16 year old sub back from service in March of this year. I had a very noticable ding on the front of my case. When it got serviced they polished it out real good. Now I have a ding in almost the same place. Next service I will tell RSC to not polish it and just keep the ding.

No dings here just light scratches.
I think I'd know if I dinged it.

I would recommend shaving in your watch. Then you'll lose the fear of scratches, dings, whatever. Ball out!!!

No dings on any of the three Rolexes I've been privileged to have over the last 23 years but have had my share of minor scratches. The most annoying was my first, a TT Date with a plexiglass crystal that was a scratch magnet as well as the clasp.

I love it when people say, "dings are memories." In that case I must have amnesia as I don't know where or when I got any of my dings.

Exactly!

The OP even said: I mean dinged even without knowing how and why

Oh well...

It's not the scratches and dings that you know how they came about that are a concern. Like you said, they mark a memory.

It's those you don't know how they happened that are the bummer.

Its OK if you have dings on your Rolex, its fixable. But not on your carbon watch.

I would remember anything that hits my arm/wrist hard enough to put a serious ding in my watch, not because of the ding but because of the hit. As for all other marks, scratches, small dings etc I wouldn't have a clue. If I'm doing some minor plumbing, wiring, carpentry, cleaning around the house or if I'm changing the oil & minor maintenance to one of my cars or motorcycles I would never notice it happening. And frankly that's where it would normaly happen. Just part of everyday life.

Surely you jest.

If you've never gotten a 'ding' in your watch...you dont own your watch, your watch owns you.
