help needed on 1675 please
Hi all , I would appreciate your input on this 1675, just stumbled on it on the net. Its located over 300 miles away from me and wanted your expert opinions before I drive over for a look, thanks in advance, Daz.
100% Authentic and Original Rolex GMT 1675 With Small Arrow and Gilt Dial! 137xxx serial number dates this watch to 1965, case back shows the date of II 65 Original Gilt Dial which has NOT been refinished or relumed. The dial looks beautiful and the luminous is in tact and looks great! Watch case and band have been professionally detailed so the watch looks great. The Rolex 1570 movement has been calibrated so the watch keeps perfect time. The band is an original rolex band |

quite a lot of wear and corrosion on the case - I'd pass on that alone. As for the insert and bracelet, who knows...

hi darren
can't really see much here but initial thoughts: - hour, second and 24hr have corroded and patina'd to a green'ish hue i don't like. too big contrast with the lume plots - as they are so worn, lume may chip off and you have to get them restored down the track, or find replacement hands - insert is a newer fat font and doesn't work with the vintage look of the watch. like an old woman with new fake boobs - case looks half decent with the end links below the case so could potentially take a polish. the case to me looks soft as a mouse's ear and tired, needs to be sharpened up - jubilee, not too bothered with this one but looks half decent if you wanted rolex so fix up the case to make sure it takes an even scraping then i believe a service is about £650 these days for a vintage piece. takes 6 weeks. a brand new 580/78360 bracelet will run into about £600, a bit less for the jubilee option get a high res image of the dial if you can

What the guys said above is true. What is the asking price? If its dirt cheap it may be worth restoration... If its market small- hand, walk away. It'd look better ,with the original fat-font Pepsi bezel

Not a bad watch, that is if the price is right. It would definatly look much better if it had a Pepsi bezel on it though.
