W&D 9ct Marconi 15 levier 15 Jewels - Advice required

Dear All,
I have the above named watch which I bought 20yrs ago and love. Over the years I have lost the original winding crown, the strap completely broke and has been replaced, and the numbers on the dial have illuminated paint on it which has mis-shapen and the dial hands are very fragile. An awful replacement winding crown was added and a new strap, which I don't like but am trying to find something old and better.

The watch is currently ticking away.

Now, should I try and find original parts to replace the parts that are missing and to upgrade the old hands? Is it worth getting the illumination removed and re-painted? I have no idea if this watch is worth anything, but I do love it, but don't want to do anything to de-value or mess it up. I have tried to take decent pics, but they are not too good.

Many thanks, JElvin
