Steam room/ sauna

Is it ok to wear your rolex in a steam room or sauna? Would there be any issues?

Thanks

Of course you can.

If it can handle 100m underwater then steam will be ok.

Found this after a 5 sec. search: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...ighlight=sauna

Type in Sauna and you'll get more answers then you'd care to read.

You do know, a steam room is only a few degrees warmer than your body temp. Lol.

It's fine, as for your watch to get very hot inside a proper Finnish sauna even would take a long time. Your watch is in contact with your skin, that won't get much warmer than 37c. This will actually cool your watch. Just as it warms your watch in normal room temperature. Test this, by noticing how cold your watch feels to the touch when not used, compared to touching the sides/top of your watch when worn. Same will apply in reversed order if the environment is hotter than you.

Air is a very poor conductor of heat, compared to say water. I suspect your watch get's much warmer by laying on the beach a hot summers day with sunray's burning on it or when you wash it in warm water, than 10-15min in the Sauna.

Relax and enjoy.

I think he was worried about the heat, not water.

It's usually quite cold at a depth of 100m.

I've heard that over time the extreme heat of a sauna can affect the gaskets of a watch, but I'm sure once in a while would be fine.

+the lubricants ,read about a freshly serviced watch which were totally "dry"inside after a year or so since the owner used sauna 3-4times a week.also in my SeMP manual clearly stated the watch shouldn t be used in sauna altough it s not the omega manual but issued by the local distri.

last two posts are correct. as a one off it wouldn't have too much effect but doing it regularly would be a bad idea.

Really? How so? Did you see the response from our Mod Peter? You mean to tell me that a Sauna trip X 100 or X 1000 could equal a watch being boiled?

You need to fit your watch properly.

You could cover my arm in butter and tug for your life and all you'd probably do is break my wrist.
