Question DeepSea Sea Dweller and Sub Mariner at night
I saw on youtube that the SeaDweller 116660 is luminated in Blue at night.
I was curious about what color would the Submariner 116613lb, and the GMTii 116713LN glow at night? |

The Sub C uses Blue Chromalite lume. The GMTIIC would have the standard Green Superluminova.

One day we may actually get a two-tone green & blue lume combination (I hope)

I don't get/like the dual lume color...looks like they are mismatched like they used the wrong hands/dial together. LOL

Why does the DSSD has blue lume? Why not keep the green?
Is the DSSD the only ROLEX with a blue lume? thanks, |

Maybe it has to do with the loss of colour underwater. Blue is visible to a greater depth than green.

"Blue light at a *lower* illumination is actually better, providing more color "information" per degree of illumination"

While we are on the topic, what color does regular Sea Dweller have? I would assume green, but do the later production models have blue by any chance?

Anyone happen to have a shot of the new 42 Explorer ii's lume? I'm getting tired of waiting on mine to arrive!

Honestly, the lume, on the GMT IIC anyway, is not good enough to worry about too much. Even fully charged it is nowhere near as bright as on the Omega.

I guess a GMT at night would help on St Patty's Day
Thanks for all the pics, esp kilyung. That really helps out a lot.
I'm not one to pick a watch simply for the color of it's lume, but if all other variables are in it's favor, then of course it would help it over the fence... I have driven many BMW products in my past but mostly M products, and I have ruled out entire Brands for the color of their informational display. I'm sure most of you know that the BMW GLows red. Therein lies the issue. A red glow on my Rolex would be most desired, and since only Blue and Green exist on my Favorite watch Brand, I will now have to make a consession about color...lol |
