Bumblebee On My Mind
Good evening everyone,
I've been a frequent visitor to the AP sub-forum over the last few months and the FC with ceramic bezel models have really caught my interest. So much so that I am contemplating moving my SubC and Pam 312 for a Bumblebee, and having it as my one and only. However I'm a little hesitant as I find myself questioning whether all of the yellow is versatile enough to wear everyday and in all situations. The idea of having 1 watch of this caliber really appeals to me. I'd also make sure I get the rubber dive strap to change up the look and tone the yellow down a bit. A little background of myself - I'm a 25 year old Underwriter for a professional liability insurance company. We are pretty casual at work so I wear polos and jeans most of the time with a suit or sport coat thrown in once a month or so. I think it would fly under the radar at work as I highly doubt my colleagues know much about AP. So my question is does anyone currently wear a Bumblebee as their daily in all environments? Does anyone have any pics of a Bumblebee with their daily attire? Thanks! PS. I love this forum and everyone's posts & pics. Major enabling that really gets the brain going! |

DO IT!
The Bee is upper echelon, worth multiple pieces and when you wear it with anything? Gets ultra demand and respect ! The yellow in person does not stand out like people think, it doesn't clash with other colors I wear either... It just looks sick with everything, and has a great pop ! The yellow is not obtrusive one bit Wish I had pics of attire with mine to show you, only wrist shots ! And it's a hell of a daily.. I'm wearing my panda daily and same can be said with that and it's red accents, I wear it with anything and it always looks amazing ! I miss my BEE at the moment, it's at AP for the water resistance test for an extended warranty , going through withdrawal lol Best of luck and go for it ! You can always go for a classic Rubberclad as well.. Rugged, and beautiful too. |

I would wear my BB in everything. It looks particularly cool in a dark gray suit. I can't recommend the rubber strap enough - it really makes it a great daily watch.

I likely will one day have one but as part of my collection. I know others may say differently but I honestly do not think the Bee would be what I would choose if I only was going to have one watch...of any brand.
Having an AP as your one and only would be fine, but if it were me and because you asked, I would get a more well rounded SS model and look for a Bee later down the road. My guess if you polled those that own a Bee, you would find the fast majority own more than one watch so there you go. Best of luck.

Quite honestly however, for me, once you get into the league of a forged carbon ap, of any color, it can become an only watch and daily wearer IMO.. It's so tough, and wears so well.. It's like one of those pieces where those who know, won't even say "but it's not dressy" when worn with a tux or suit lol.. it gets a crazy respect |

Love the Bee. Don't think I could have it as my only watch, tho.

i am 29 in 2 months, and if i were in your shoes i would definitely sell the rolex and panerai and get the BB as an only watch.
i wear it with everything .. jeans, shorts, training pants, national dresswear (predominantly white throughout the year), with shirts and tees and vnecks.. really EVERYTHING as Martin pointed out the yellow does not clash at all and in fact it adds personality and expresses a lot by adding it to any mix. as for getting it vs moving the two watches, i say that because recently i've been only wearing the BB and GPC alternating between them (and only my gshock gets wrist time at the gym) for personal reasons the BB is sold now pending funds, and i can guarantee you that it WILL make a comeback into my rotation once that is feasible .. it is a definite must-have and at 25? it is THE RIGHT watch and you should not be afraid ps: this message has been brought to you withOUT mentioning the practicality of the ceramic bezel and carbon case! |

My Bee is not my one and only... But it may as well be!!! As all my other pieces do not see the light of day since I purchased it just over two and a half months ago!... Sell the Rolex and pan and never look back!
I've just noticed my FC matches my work top !! |

Gotta love the bee.
One thing I have yet to see, though, is one paired with work attire like a suit and tie. I guess that's fine since it seems to be more of a casual watch (as opposed to a one watch option). |

I've worn mine with dark gray suit, white shirt, black tie. Had it on black survivor hornback. Looked sharp IMO.
