Case corrosion?

So I was taking off the nato strap from my Submariner to put it back on the bracelet and the fact that there was no serial number between the lugs caught my eye. Then I realized that it was normal for a random 14060m. Then I noticed something else, the case right under the bezel around the 25 minute mark seems to be chipped/corrosion?

I don't know how this could of happened, the bezel has never been removed. Can anyone explain this? Can I fix it?

Can't tell from the pics. If there's no discoloration, I'd wager it was from someone removing the bezel.

It possibly had some hidden damage when you bought it.
Where did you get it?

I'm sorry, can't get better pics without removing bezel and I don't want to make it worst. I bought it off a dealer that I trust. Do you think this is enough to return it? It doesn't bother me much but would it get worst over time?

You paid a lot of money for this watch - I would definitely speak to dealer that sold to you.

This Rolex 904L stainless is not a particularly hard metal. Could this be from one of the stainless metal retainer rings on your NATO rubbing on the case as your watch 'works' around on your wrist?

It's gods way of punishing you for putting a fabric strap on a Rolex.

Regardless of the cause, sorry to hear about it. That's a bummer to find a flaw of that magnitude hidden in your watch.

Return it something is not right. I took off my bezel carefully to get rid of the little spring so the bezel moves both ways. When I finished no marks were made.

Flaw of that magnitude you must have better eyes than myself, but it looks like the bezel could have been remove and its a tool mark.Myself would not worry about it even sweat from wearing can discolour SS if not properly cleaned

Got ask why the spring is there so the bezel does only turn one way.
