Opinions on this watch

Rolex ref 1002. I know nothing about these older Rolex watches. Asking for the great people here to help me out on if this watch if its real or not.

It comes with the original watch band (no pics) and an aftermarket stainless band

I think its a pretty fair price if everything checks out.

Can the seller open it for you to look at the movement? I looked in my book, and there is a watch face under 1002 that looks identical to this one, with the same hand length, same stick length, colors, etc. as the one you're showing. The stamp in the bracelet clasp looks genuine to my untrained eye. I wouldn't go by my opinion since I'm a newbie with a book, but it really does look good on the outside. The inside should tell the tale, however.

Thanks for your opinion. I have since checked this persons references and his reputaion is good.

I do not think there will be any issues with this person honestly.

Thanks
Shawn

Congrats on finding such a good deal! Wear it in good health. I have a DateJust that looks the same (except for the date of course). It's from 1960. I love it.

The guy told me he has the original band...the one shown is aftermarket but his watchmaker put the original Rolex clasp on.

So there is this stainless aftermarket band with original Rolex clasp, the original band with no clasp...

If the band pictured is an original Rolex band or not I dont know, all I have to go off of is what he told me.

Sorry if I confused anyone...I confuse myself from time to time too
