Quality of Omega rubber strap (for PO)
Hi again folks,
Any one here wears their PO regularly on the original Omega rubber strap (tang buckle type)? How do this rubber strap perform with time? ![]() ![]() Any inherent issues? ![]() I am gonna buy the original rubber for my PO2500 and you know the original rubber is abt USD240, which is alot of $$ for me for a rubber strap . THANKS! |

The rubber with stitching is top quality.. Wear very comfortable, and highly recommended. Have no experience with the diver rubber strap. Read elsewhere on the forum its not very durable. Hope that helps.

If the rubber for the 8500 will fit, get it. Twice as much when you include the deployant but worth every penny IMO.
Never owned the rubber for the 2500 but have seen pics on forums of others who had there's destroyed. It wasn't even all rubber. It looked like there was cardboard in the center. You could find a much better and cheaper aftermarket rubber strap. |

I purchased an aftermarket non-branded dive strap for my PO this week. This was supposedly made to OEM standards, All I can say is you get what you pay for. It was finished cheaply, but more important, it was nor even the right height between the lugs. I promptly returned it. I am going to find another strap on the net to work for me. The original looks nice, but $250 will buy a lot of other straps...

Heard good things about the Isofrane straps but they just do nothing for me. |

If you want aftermarket and isofrane doesn't appeal to you, do a search for Bonetto Cinturini.
Great rubber straps and run around $30. |

Have oem with buckle and stitched one with deployant. No problems with either
Scan the boards, pick up a pre owned for less. Highly recommend either. Makes the watches more fun, change it up! ![]() |

Love the OEM rubber on PO
I replaced the factory stainless bracelet with the OEM rubber with buckle on my 42 mm PO a couple of years ago.
I found it to be extremely comfortable, even in the hottest, most humid weather and the it looks great. IMHO, definitely a great way to mix up the PO and a great value. ![]() |

Went to my trusted watchmaker and came home with a 20mm Seiko diver rubber strap. Seiko is well known for their diver tool watches, nothing fancy and designed for the job at hand. Likewise the rubber that came with the dive watches are as good quality as the watches they hold.
Looks like I have just saved myself $200. MY PO2500 feels great now! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I have both types and always end up with the stitched deployment strap. Its much more comfortable. Tang buckle is however in good shape after two years of light wear.

If you go aftermarket it's best to try to find one with curved ends; the spring bar-case gap is fairly long on this watch and leaves a pretty large "gap" that imo is not so aesthetically pleasing.
I've had no issues with the OEM rubber strap, but rubber is rubber and will eventually wear out...to stave off this process, I give it a good rinsing/scrubbing off on bottom w/fingertips (I only use soap every so often and then only lightly with immediate rinse-off, I've heard it can dry out rubber), pat it dry w/towel and it still looks as good as new. If you go awhile without wearing it it can get oxydized, takes on a dull grey appearance, a good washing with a bit of pressure (again use fingers) can take that off, and every once in a great while I put a very light coat of vaseline on it, let it sit for a while to soak in, and then wipe off the excess, gets it looking very sharp and lasts forever...

Not sure if this is what you mean, but it's very comfortable, with special style deployant. I sold the bracelet, much preferring this...
