Please help. How much should I pay for this Rolex?

I love this watch but dknt know what a fair price is. The crown does not have a rolex logo. And the band isn't original. From 1940,s

Any information would help.

In my defense I wrote that before you attached the photo and without the photo it certainly sounded like a joke post!

Derf, I am FAR from an expert on Vintage Rollies, so someone else should give you a more definitive answer, but I am pretty sure it is. I wouldn't spend a penny until it was confirmed. And what he told you about... what was it? Rare.. only offered in parts of the country or something...
