Need help deciding what to do with my Z SS Daytona
I am on the fence about what to do with my Z serial SS Daytona with Black dial.
Option 1: Spend about $2K for the WG Panda dial installed. Option 2: Sell the Daytona in anticipation of a 50th anniversary SS model (possibly) announced in the spring. And wear my 1994 Explorer II White face in the mean time. Option 3: Do nothing. Please advise. Thanks in advance. |

I'd wait and see if your looking for a new Daytona to be introduced. If it doesn't happen you may regret selling it too soon.

Option 3....,,Wait for the announcement and maybe pick up an anniversary Daytona should one be released and it appeals to you. You can always flip your Z later.

Panda dial on a SS is considered posing by some...I say do what you like.
However, I also say enjoy your watch. Daytonas post Basel - if they materialize - will take a while to enter the market. |

Option 3..... for now.
Reading between the lines, I think the real questions are how much do you like your current Daytona and are you itching for a change? |

If not years, there is nothing indicating we will see a new daytona this year, pure speculation nothing more, even the 50 aniv is a question for many.
Why do something? Are you bored or tired of it? I wouldn't do anything, IMHO is the best Rolex out there so why change :) |

I felt the Panda dial would give my Daytona a face lift, while not spending big bucks on a Patek Jumbo Nautilus or Rolex WG DD II.... If a new SS Daytona is announced, the value of my Z serial could drop, thus my question for selling now. If a new SS Daytona is not released, I could always buy another one and add the Panda dial like I was planning on doing.... Tough decision. Thanks for the help. Keep suggestions coming. |

And if a new one is, how much are you willing to pay and how long are you willing to wait?

If it is announced, I would be willing to spend $5000-$7500 more than I sell my SS Daytona for. I am very patient. I have no problem waiting. |

It's nice having to make such a decision. The devaluation of your Z? Great watches that are discontinued/updated appeal to me and I think others. I think my 16710 M will hang in if they ever figure the colored bezel out. Wouldn't sell it, wouldn't worry. Good Luck.
