So I heard a klunk and realized I just smashed my 44mm roo! Low and behold my first ding on the steel, I am sick about it... When AP repolishes the watch can this be fixed or am I screwed. Worse case scenerio how much for a new case???

Ouch! It depends on how big and deep the ding is. Sometimes they can make it disappear but if it's too deep, they can only make it less noticeable.

In any case, you still have a great watch, now with character! Wear it in good health!

That's always painful. No worries, it'll either get polished out or the bezel can be replaced at the next service.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Just never hurt this bad with other watches

I looked into replacement parts before getting my roc. was relieved that case is only about $1200. might be a little more for roo, but probably not to bad. let that make you feel better! you can always make it look new if you want to. hard part is getting it in the first place!

The first scratch does hurt the most but its going to happen sooner or later so its best not to let it get to you. My dog put a nice scratch on my new 15400 about 2 hours after I first unwrapped it from the box. No worries...I'll wear it...and AP will repair it.

Sadly AP can't repair dogs that suffer the consequences of such inconsiderate behaviour.

I was OCD freaked when I got my first dings. Every time I looked at the watch, it was all I saw. It really passes -- and once it does, you realize how not-prominent the marks really are. It's just tough at first since APs are so insanely finished. And again, it helps to remember that in a worst case scenario replacing a case or a bezel only costs like 5% of the cost of the watch.

first cut is indeed the deepest. got mine within the first week. still hurts... just not so much.

on the bezel, just south of the screw. between the 9 and 10 marks.

That can easily be polished out at your next service.

Don't worry about it brother. These type of dings can be polished perfectly by AP.
