Best way to loose time?

My new sub in gaining 1 sec per day. I know this is very acceptable & it has been consistent. My question is, in which position should I lay it at night so it may loose time?

My new Sub has been gaining 3 to 4 secs per day, I would be happy with just a one second gain.

You guys worrying over a second or two a day got to make me smile sometimes.Just think of it this way now any mechanical watch of any brand or make has to deal with this every day.In 24 hours, the escapement of a mechanical watch pushes the gears 432,000 times. Since a day has 86,400 seconds, even a watch that runs five minutes fast or slow each day has an accuracy of over 99.6 percent! A finer mechanical watch that gains or loses about nine seconds a day or about a minute a week has a breathtaking precision of over 99.99 per cent. This is very high precision, given the fact that the movement is constantly affected by the earth's gravity, metal expansion and contraction, temperature variations, subtle changes in lubrication and friction, shocks, and so on.So now does this make you feel a bit better now, with the exceptional accuracy of your mechanical watch.Afraid if you want spot on accuracy should have bought a Atomic watch. Now if it gains a second or two all you got to do is just hack the movement to correct it. But whats in a second or two its hardly life threatening is it.

My new DD is running exactly 3 1/2 fast per day. Storing it crown up or crown down doesn't seem to have any effect at all.
Not the end of the world, but I do wish it was spot on. I will ask that the watch be regulated when I send it back to RSC to remove a small piece of lint that they left for me (free of charge by the way) on the dial.

There is nothing critical in the gaining or loosing a few second. It is more the fact that, we all would like as near perfection as we can get. And yer right it is a bit anal.

Set it 15 seconds fast on the 1st day of the month. The first half of the month, it will catch up 1 second per day. The second half it will lose, but just 15 seconds. You will likely reset the date at the start of the next month anyway. Either way, you will only be 15 seconds "off".

I find 8-10 cans of wife beater does the job.
