My First Rolex!

Some of you may recall my post a few weeks ago about the SS YM I placed on deposit at my local AD. Well, I finalized the deal yesterday!

But instead of the YM, I put my money down on an SS GMTIIc that had just been delivered to the store a few hours before. I had not seen one in person before, and wasn't quite sure if I would like it based on the pictures.

But after trying it on, and comparing both the YM and GMT side by side, there was just something special about the GMT that I couldn't turn away from. I don't know how to explain it, but there was a certain "gotta-have-it" appeal to the GMT that I wasn't getting from the YM.

Now don't get me wrong, I love the YM, and I will own one someday. But not today. Something neat about having the very latest and greatest that Rolex has to offer. I'm having it shipped out of state to save the sales tax, so no pics just yet, but I will have it in the next week or so.

It's an M Serial # with the CRB, which the YM I was looking at did not. I'll post more details along with pics when I get it.

In the meantime, thanks to everyone on this board for all of their insight, wisdom, and feedback. Special thanks to Bo for his amazing write up on the GMT that I must have read two or three times yesterday.

Merry Christmas to all,
Daniel

A great purchase, and just in time for the holiday season. Think of all those special occasions you can wear it at!

My wife bought me the SS GMTIIc about 3 weeks ago. I work out of the country so I haven't even seen it yet. Everyone I've talk to and from what I've read on the forums, they say it is a must to see in person and that pics do not do it justice.

Congrats on your new watch

Kyle

Congrats, Daniel!

You will never regret this purchase!

Please post some pics when you get the time.

And a Merry Xmas to you, too! Just wait till you admire your SS GMT IIc in the dim light from the Xmas tree!

That was the same decision that I had..YM or GMTc . When I finally got a chance to see the GMTc it was a easy choice.
