Two Thumbs Up to AD Christopher James in Honolulu

Was in Hawaii for a week and stopped in to both Christopher James ADs in Waikiki in Honolulu Hawaii.

Both had an amazing selection! Tons and tons of every imaginable Rolex. I was really in Rolex Paradise!! They even had some of the more arcane Rolex. The Leopard Daytona (which they actually sold while I was there! $52,000 I think.) The Zebra Datejust. Kinda cool in person actually, but definitely not my style. If you want attention this would be a conversation starter.

They also had both the WG and the Platinum YM II. Huge watches. Actually again kind of nice in person. Again not my style though.

They had the SS GMT IIc and a LV in the case and had just sold a Milgausse.

What really impressed me though was that at both stores the staff were incredibly fun, polite, knowledgable and not pushy.

I walked in with wet swim trunks both times (they are right on Kalakaua Avenue right on the beach.) Flip flops (slippers in Hawaii), no shirt and a backpack. They still treated me like a valued customer. In fact both times I ended up staying about 45 mins to an hour just talking story with the very nice sales staff. They never once pushed me to buy and let me try on a few pieces.

All the staff were beautiful people both in looks and in attitude. I would definitely buy from them.

I took some pics from their window displays:

AD in St. Thomas, USVI is like that. Very involved and fun, not a bit stuffy. Happy to help anyone that wanders in. Even spend time with those that clearly aren't going to buy one. Lot's of cruise boat people that just want to say they've tried one on...

Sidenote. I went out drinking to a nightclub Saturday night with my best friend from Hawaii and two of his co-workers.

My buddy had his one and only Rolex on. A 5513 that his Dad bought 40 + years ago and which he recently gave to my friend. I had on my SS White Dial Daytona.

One of the other guys had on a TT Blue Sub and the 2nd friend had on a SS Black Dial Daytona. This guy and I talked watches for a while. He said he has 12 Rolex including three SS Daytonas!! He has a safe in his house with a $152,000 Patek Phillipe. These Dudes make mad money selling real estate in Hawaii.

The guy with the TT Blue Sub on was a super gregarious guy. I complimented him on his Blue Sub and he said "Do you want it?" and began taking it off of his wrist. I laughed and told him I already have one. My friend told me later that he really would have given it to me if I wanted it!!!!!

They still are. They are combining thier two stores which are literally right across the street from each other on Kalakaua into one store on the Makai side of Kalakaua in the Royal Hawaiian Shoping Center.
