New from GA

Howdy folks!

New guy checking in here. I came across the site after joining WUS a few weeks ago while looking for a new watch. I picked up a couple of nice watches...Seiko 5 and a nice Smiths Everest...over the past 3-4 weeks. I really like both of them, but I'm more of a one watch guy. Just based on the Citizen I replaced and the two new purchases this month...ONE Rolex may end up being cheaper in the long run ...if I don't stop the buying NOW! I attached a little pic of my Smiths on a Nato...

So I'm looking possibly to get a Rolex to get me by until my time is up LOL! I'm trying to decide between an Explorer I or Submariner. Closest AD is over an hour away, and I hope to visit in the next couple weeks. Personally, I don't have to buy new...but I also value a good relationship with someone local.

I'm in no rush to buy so I'm reading and learning a good bit on TRF. So far most of my questions have been pretty basic and the ones that get beat to deat ...

Welcome

That "Smiths" is a very nice watch indeed
It looks very similar to a vintage Rolex Explorer 1016.

I would suggest that you look at a Submariner or a GMT. Buying new is not always the best and there are some remarkably good vintage Rolex watches around.

You know they don't make them like they used to. That doesn't mean that the newer models are worse, they are very well made, however, vintage cool is something you cannot get from a brand new watch.

Enjoy

I hear you. I'm comfortable either way...new or used. I definitely feel myself leaning Sub, but we will see. Got to get a few on the wrist and go from there!

I'm already liking the deals on the sales section...accidentally ended up in the vintage subforum and I could see where that would get tempting real quick too...be still my beating wallet...I mean heart :)

I may live in GA, but go Gators!

Not sure what could be more violent...Rolex vs Omega or Gators vs Dawgs

For me I don't worked up too much over either debate...but still go Gators!
