Most Expensive Rolex in Production 18956
WOW! This is an amazing Rolex, the 18956 BRIL with inner Bezel Engraving!
Sant Blanc uploaded a short video review today of this watch with a meteorite diamond dial, baguette diamond bracelet and bezel. AMAZING! Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JloRR88gbM Let me know what you think of this $177,850.00 Rolex.

I personally wouldn't wear that thing even if they gave it to me!
Good to see though, kudos for bringing it to TRF. |

I would rather have my ...
... 118206 to be honest. I LOVE platinum but for more subdued reasons than this. Yes the metal has a 'liquid like' luster which I LOVE but I like to leave the Ice Ice to my baby

Wow...that price tag is impressive but that is a lot of platinum and diamonds.

Actually, I think the GMT Ice is more expensive (assuming it's still available - I believe only 10 have been made) at circa $400k

I could take any old thing, cover it in diamonds and sell it for $200k. That to me isn't valuable. It isn't even complex or hard to make

I'd rather do the gmt ice.
I like platinum for its metal, and wouldn't adulterate it with diamonds... |

I think it's stunning. But I don't have the look or lifestyle to successfully pull that baby off.

That gawdy watch is 8 ounces for $277,850 - that is $1,240.40 per gram of platinum. Now, mind you, platinum is about $30 per gram right now. There are 28 grams per ounce of platinum for a total of 224 grams at $30, equaling $6,720 in platinum value and there are about $3,000 in diamonds (at best) so that means you are paying a whopping $268,130 for the same movement as is in a $30,000 DD. Or, to put it bluntly you are paying over $235,000 for nothing but the opportunity to say you own the most expensive Rolex watch. There has to be a reasonable price point in this market. I'm thankful for free enterprise but this is just plain price gouging or profiteering or whatever the economists call it. It's crazy ! ! !
